OptiFine HD Mod is imo one of the best tools for Minecraft to ever exist, as it gives HD texture support and greatly boosts the performance online and offline, single and multiplayer. Do note that when playing in servers not hosted by you, the host has to install the mod on the server as well; otherwise it won’t work.

OptiFIne HD Mod for Minecraft 1

What’s so good about this mod is that it also gives you the power to adjust the game settings effectively, therefore saving resources while still keeping the game running smoothly nicely. It also boost the FPS rate, almost doubling it. Other features such as anti-aliasing, render distances… and even other cool visual effects such as fog control or better snow/water/grass quality etc.

OptiFIne HD Mod for Minecraft 3

Last but not least, the mod also help you to run HD textures/resource pack without having to install other mods. Long story short: it’s a perfect tool for those who want to play Minecraft on obsolete computers (or ‘potatoes’ according to me).
